SAVANNAH, Mo. - At their last meeting, the Savannah City Council started with a 30 minute review of the city's budget, something City Clerk Beth Kar says the council will do at every meeting going forward.
Kar told KXCV/KRNW that the new policy was one of several fiscally-minded changes sparked by the budget restrictions caused by COVID-19.
Kar says the city's department leaders pushed some purchases and projects back to the next fiscal year, which starts October 1, and ultimately saved money this fiscal year.
